Cox’s Bazar, the tourist capital, is getting a new look

Special Correspondent : Cox’s Bazar, the tourist capital, is getting a new look. All the tourism related institutions including restaurants and hotels in the hotel and motel zone have started redecorating. Cox’s Bazar attracts millions of tourists during Eid holidays. This time he is no exception in the 9 consecutive days off. Hotel motel booking has already started.

Last minute preparations are underway. After Ramadan, with Eid-ul-Fitr looming, tourism businesses are busy renovating their businesses. Authorities are keeping an eye on all aspects of the hotel, including the cleanliness of the inside and outside. They think that if the world’s largest beaches are not beautiful, then our crores of rupees invested is useless. Those who come here come to see the roar of the beach and its beauty. So everyone should keep the beach beautiful. This is what the hoteliers think.

Tourism-related businesses say capitalizing on the beach has provided employment for a large number of people in the tourist area. But we can’t protect this beach. The longest beach in the world is being shortened day by day. Arrangements have been made to anchor the ship by splitting the sand dunes at Inani. Which will serve as a major obstacle for 120 km of beach. Just as hoteliers are enhancing the beauty of their hotels for business, they need to come forward to protect the beach. Because this beach is their only source of livelihood.

Due to the epidemic of Corona in the last few years, the tourists could not come to the beach during the Eid season and this time they will not miss the opportunity. Millions of tourists will come to Cox’s Bazar during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. From now on, booking has started in different hotels and motels. And to make their pleasure trip even more beautiful, they have started decorating the hotel rooms in a new way.

Forkan Mahmud, director of Hotel Regal Palace, said there were not many tourists during the Ramadan season. So we are working to enhance the beauty of the hotel rooms by thinking about the overall convenience of the tourists who will come on Eid. Almost all hotels will now replace their used furniture with new furniture. The interior will be decorated to increase the tourist attraction.

Abul Kasim, the owner of Hotel Diamond, said that due to the low number of tourists during other times of Ramadan, almost every hotel owner goes to great lengths to beautify their hotel. But this time the issue is a little different. Because of Corona in the country, tourists could not visit Cox’s Bazar during the Eid season in the last few years. Maybe this time we will see a different picture. A little more tourists may come than before.

Mukim Khan, secretary of the Hotel Resort Owners’ Association, said the last few years have not seen much tourists during the Eid season due to the Corona. Hopefully this time tourists will come to Cox’s Bazar as expected. So we have prepared in advance. We have arranged training so that the tourists get good service from the tourist services. Arrangements have been made to clear the road by telling the municipal mayor. We are making arrangements to make the beach clean through the Beach Management Committee. There should be no shortage of their hospitality. We have brought new furniture for every room in the room starting from the ceiling of the bed.

Meanwhile, keeping Eid-ul-Fitr in mind, the authorities have increased the speed of road works to ensure that tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar Municipality do not face any traffic problems. Work on the main road in Kalatali is already nearing completion. It is learned that the work of beautification of the road is still pending.

However, the tourist traders are a bit disappointed as the work on the main road of the city has not been completed. Another major tourist attraction, they think, is the city’s Burmese market. If the main road is not completed, tourists may be harassed if they go there.

Tourists are reportedly worried about the recent robberies and killings in Cox’s Bazar. The local conscious community thinks that the number of tourists may decrease if the tourists pay attention to this.

Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police Superintendent of Police Zillur Rahman said, “With our manpower, we have been safe in all such events before.” With this Eid-ul-Fitr in mind, we will increase the patrol police thinking of extra security. I have formed a special team of tourist police. Each team will be patrolling the tourist area. There will be another special team in the hotel motel area. Members of the white-clad tourist police will be patrolling the beach. They will keep an eye on who is doing what. Hopefully with our team we can provide security to the tourists .
